Hernán “Abu Uthman” Guadalupe began training in traditional Fu Jow Pai (Tiger Claw Kung-Fu) at the age of 8 under Sifu Paul Vizzio in Union City, New Jersey. He was a very dedicated student, training daily and assisting in the instruction of the youth and adult classes. He was also a very active competitor winning a number of open tournaments on the east coast. Throughout his lifetime, he also trained in American Kickboxing, Shotokan Karate, and Korean Tae Kwon Do.
He has had the privilege of training with a number of great martial artists and instructors such as World Champion Kickboxer, Sifu Paul Vizzio, 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist, Herb Perez, Guinness World Record Holder, Shihan Kenneth Lee.
In 2009, Hernán relocated to College Park with his family and began his training in Korean Tang Soo Do at Aqabah Karate and became the first person to graduate to the rank of Black Belt.
He brings over 14 years of Martial Arts experience to the Aqabah Karate. Among his credentials are:
